The aim of Dronacharya Armed Forces Preparatory Academy, Hyderabad is "To impart quality education and prepare boys and girls to join the National Defence Academy (NDA) / Equivalent Defence, Officer Training Academies.

DAPA is a premium Academy, with a structured training programme and adequate infrastructure to groom the aspirant students for a career as an officer in Indian Defence Forces.

The Academy offers only Science Stream at the +2 level. However, to prepare the Cadets for the UPSC examination for entry into NDA, Social Sciences will also be covered as part of the curriculum. The curriculum requirements will be exacting yet exciting in their variety. Every activity will be objective based and precisely timed to mould future leaders and render holistic personality development.

Students will be familiarised with the current trends of objective type of questions to enable them to proficiently face the UPSC Examination for entry into the NDA and INA.

State-of-the-Art Infrastructure with spacious Airconditioned class rooms, well equipped Smart Classes and Laboratories, manned by a thoroughly professional Faculty, with a teacher student ratio of 1:10 besides, it has many play fields, indoor and outdoor Courts, and all facilities for co-curricular activities.

The only Academy in Telangana state with Outdoor GTO tasks include PGTs, HGTs, command task and Individual Obstacle Course similar to those at SSBs.

DIPR trained assessors (GTOs, Psychologists & Interviewing Officers) with long experience in the field.
